“Marketing is a tough nut to crack without understanding the production process of a product.” In other words all departments of an organization need to impart a team effort to achieve the goals of high profitability and market share. This was the learning that PGDEBM & MBA Students of Jodhpur based institute Indraprastha College of Mgmt. & Technology (ICMT) comprehended during their visit at the world’s largest producer of milk products, AMUL (GCMMF Ltd.) - Anand, Gujarat.
The group of Management students arrived back to Jodhpur on late night of Saturday after completion of their educational tour to Gujarat in various industries of international repute. Asst. Professor Sandeep Solanki and PR Manager of the ICMT Mr. Bhupesh Advani were accompanying the group guide the students.
After reaching at Anand the group was welcomed by Mr Deb Maliya, PRO of Amul Dairy. He informed the students that it was because of Amul that India became the world’s largest milk producer. Amul is India’s largest Food Brand producer and having more than 30 brands. He also informed that the formation of Amul Cooperative was a part of India’s Independence Movement. ICMT students visited the Amul Dairy Plant.
Students also visited Vidya Dairy which is run under the aegis of AMUL by students of Gujarat Agricultural University, also the world famous Institute of Rural Management, IRMA, founded by Dr. V. Kurien in Anand. Students also experienced total operation of selling & collection of Milk from local farmers during their visit at a milk cooperative at Sandesar village.
In the next visit at Vallabh Vidya Nagar, students also learned the working process of Elecon Engg. Co. and GMM Pfaudler Reactor manufacturer, where Mr. C.T. Patel, (Accounts Manager, GMM) pacified the queries of students.
During its return way back to Jodhpur, students also had fun during recreation at Water World Park in Mehsana and enjoyed water sliding and rain dance.
After returning to the ICMT, Director Prof. Sushil Choudhary addressed to students and distributed participation certificates. He informed that the aim of this visit was to ensure students’ interaction with best Professionals & Leaders in their respective field. Such visits are part of curriculum of management programmes at ICMT. |
